The 2008 Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team will represent the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2008 college football season. The team's Head Coach is Larry Fedora, who will begin his first season as the Eagles' head coach, replacing Jeff Bower, who resigned after accumulating a 119-82-1 record at Southern from 1990-2007. USM has been a member of Conference USA (CUSA) since the league's inception in 1995, and has participated in that conference's Eastern Division since 2005. The Golden Eagles will play their home games in 2008 at historic M. M. Roberts Stadium ("The Rock") in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, which has been Southern Miss football's "home" stadium since 1932.
