Solmark is a Valdemaran village, sister to the lost village of Starhaven. Around 372 AF, more than 400 years before the time of Vanyel, the village was located along what was then the extreme western border of Valdemar, in the edges of the Pelagirs. Village stockades were erected more for protection against unchancy creatures, then protection against bandits. Given that the local noble was Lady Baireschild, it probably wasn't too far from the border with Baires in the north either.
