Vredestein Banden B.V. is anglo Dutch-Indian manufacturer of tyres for cars, commercial vehicles, tractors and bicycles. The company is independent of other large tire manufacturers and describes itself as "middle-sized". The corporate slogan is "Designed To Protect You". The company is renowned for its close cooperation with the famous Giugiaro Design studio, which designs all Vredestein tires in the high segments of the tire market (e.g. high performance summer and winter tires). Vredestein was acquired by the Russian company Amtel in April 2005, becoming part of the Amtel-Vredestein Group. Amtel-Vredestein was declared bankrupt in April 2009; Vredenstein Banden BV was acquired in May by the Indian manufacturer Apollo Tyres Ltd.
