The Hunt-class escort destroyers were a type of starship on active duty in Starfleet during at least the late 23rd century. Along with rhe Renner-class corvettes, the Hunt class was designed as a new class to supplement existing classes of starships on border and spacelane patrol duty. (Federation Reference Series 6)
