Although having a connection with the Force, her parent's refused to send her to any sort of Academy for training, maintaining the view that bad things happened to those that meddled with Force. Growing up as an only child, Astera spent most of her childhood alone and made few friends. She'd often dream of the stars and the worlds that lay beyond, but remained confined by Society, and trapped by her parents’ beliefs.
