The Argus-class carrier was a class of guided missile-armed fleet carriers in service with the UNSC Navy. Replacing the Atlas-class carrier during the 2540s, the Argus was designed to be cheaply produced and leanly manned, addressing the chronic shortage of carriers and starfighter cover in the fleet. A total of ninety six were built, of which nineteen survived the Human-Covenant War.
