Being born into a family of musicians, Hernandez started making music at a very young age, His father, Pete Hernandez, played the percussion, and his mother, Bernie Hernandez, was a hulu dancer. Both being performers, they met at a show, and fell in love henceforth having Peter. Bruno Mars got an early start performing and dancing, and in 1990, when he was five years old, he was featured in Midweek as "Little Elvis" for his Elvis impersonation, which first surfaced when he performed with his family band, Love Notes, at age four.
