Answer from SonicSP 02:01, June 23, 2010 (UTC) One analogy that can be used to is a car and a Ferrari. A Ferrari IS a car, a specific brand of car under the brand Ferrari. But a car in genaral is "a passenger vehicle designed for operation on ordinary roads and typically having four wheels and a gasoline or diesel internal-combustion engine". Ferraris are cars but not all cars are Ferraris. Gundams are mobiles suits, but not all mobile suits are Gundams. Given how Gundam is mostly just a name, the brand analogy sort of fits it as well to differentiate the mobile suit and Gundam terms.
