The RG430 is one of only a few RG models produced with a 22-fret neck. It is also remarkable as an RG model with three single-coil pickups. It has the rounded-edge body style of the older Roadstar body. The RG430 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret fingerboard with dot inlays. Components include three pickguard-mounted Ibanez single coil pickups with the bridge mounted askew and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. The RG440 is a similar model with a humbucker at the bridge. The RG430 was discontinued after 1987.
