The first floor contained guard chambers connected by a circular stair to several levels of dormitories above. The second highest room in the tower was a well stocked armoury. The circular stair ended at a trap door leading to the tower's topmost room. This small area featured broad windows in all directions and an oil flame device that could be used to send signals up and down the wall.
