Released in 1981, the soundtrack album to Superman II was composed and conducted by Ken Thorne, based on original themes composed by John Williams. The disc itself was a very interesting item. The surface of the record itself had been laser-etched with 5 Superman logos circling each side, which were especially visible when the record was held up to the light. This was not a picture disc, and it would play on any normal record player.
