The Reading Steiner is a term referring to Rintarou Okabe's ability to, through the use of D-mails, alter the happenings of the past, present and future. Rintarou, after switching world lines (a.k.a. time-leaping), retains his memory of events that have occurred before (from his point of view) the switch. While no other members of the cast have this immediate knowledge of a switch having occurred or any recollection of what happened in another World Line, they seem to regain fragments of these memories occasionally.
