The Mongol Empire was formed by Gengis Khan in 1206 by uniting the desparate Mongol tribes. They swiftly subjugated China,and invaded Central Asia after considerable provacation from the Khwarezmian Empire. The Mongols created the largest land empire in history in a relatively short time, covering much of Asia and Eastern Europe.
