Neverwinter Nights: Resurrection (NWN:R) is a remake of the original Neverwinter Nights . The original Neverwinter Nights, sometimes known as oNWN, is widely recognized as the first massively mutiplayer online roleplaying game. It was hosted on America Online from 1991 to 1997. The entire original game has been rebuilt using BioWare's Aurora toolset, and is being hosted as a persistent world by the Neverwinter Consortium (NWC). Neverwinter Nights: Resurrection opened for private beta testing on July 19, 2002, and officially opened for public play on October 25, 2002. NWN:R is a highly ranked NW Vault Hall of Fame gameworld.
