The Maxim gun is a HMG of British origin. It is large and heavy, and although it can be transported by a team of two on its lafette, this is making it too unwieldy to be used as an integral weapon in infantry tactics. Maxims, where still used at all, are deployed in stationary defensive lines and machine gun nests. So entrenched however, they can form a death zone for enemy infantry. The weapon also finds employment in advanced fortifications, and - rarely, due to being superseded - as a vehicle weapon. Interestingly, like the smiliarly-unwieldy minigun, the Maxim finds use as a single-person weapon for several units with super-human strength.
