David Barkesis the special effects cordinator - additional photography for District 9. His team produced many of the practical physical elements that were shot against green screen (i.e. blood hits, dust clouds, bullet hits) and were later inserted into the movie by the CGI companies. He worked directly for Robert Hoobs who was one of the Oscar Nominees for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
