Feathers of Color, subtitled What Was it Like Playing the Famous Bigbird "An American Icon", is a memoir by actor Lionel Douglass. Beginning with the first Sesame Street Live tour in 1980, Douglass played the stage version of Big Bird for four years, under the tutelage of Caroll Spinney and Kermit Love. The book reflects on this experience, as well as other aspects of his life and career.
