Zakhan Moudalla was the ruler of the Vassagonian Empire until MS 5055. Popular with his people, Moudalla remained in power well into old age. However he had no sons and many young noblemen of the empire waited impatiently for him to die. Following Barraka's invasion of southern Sommerlund and his failed attempt to resurrect Darklord Vashna, Moudalla sent his most trusted envoy to seek peace with Sommerlund. The elderly Zakhan requested that Lone Wolf, who had stopped Barraka and killed him, come to Vassagonia and sign the treaty. Moudalla died not long before Lone Wolf arrived and the young Kai Savant learned that Moudalla's successor, Kimah, was working with the Darklords. Whether or not Kimah or his agents murdered Moudalla is unknown.
