The leopard society was a group active in 18th century Dahomey headed by the Egbo-Obong. It was the highest authority on spiritual matters for the Efik tribe. The Egbo-Obong of Nkome's time had considerable knowledge of the Great Old Ones which he imparted to Nkome. (PROSE: White Darkness)
