It started as a Tropical Wave off of Africa, which was given a high chance of development by the NHC. The next day, Tropical Storm Mewtwo formed out of the Tropical Wave. Then on August 24, Mewtwo went through rapid deepening and became a Category 2 Hurricane on the 25th. Mewtwo would then trek across the Atlantic Ocean, strengthening until it reached peak intensity on the 27th. Mewtwo headed straight towards the Gulf Of Mexico, killing 9 people as it passed Florida and the Bahamas. On September 1, Hurricane Mewtwo made landfall near Destin, Florida as a low end Category 4 Hurricane and killed 123 people and injured 500+.
