Texture buffers are active camouflage systems used on UNSC Prowlers. They are designed to hide the craft from plain sight through the use of photoreactive coating or "active camouflage skin," integrated to the ship's stealth ablative coating that also masks the ship's radar signatures. The UNSC also possesses more advanced visual stealth technology, as demonstrated by the ONI stealth ship ONI PRO-49776 using a form of camouflage "bubble" similar to Covenant active camouflage. However, this technology has not been seen in widespread use.
