"Carnival of Sorts (Box Cars)" is a song by R.E.M. written by Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe. It is the third song of the band's 1982 debut EP Chronic Town, as well as the last song of the first side of the vinyl release. The song was frequently played live in the early 80s, often as the closing song before the encore in 1981.
