Nimrod was the king of Shinar, husband of Semiramis, and father of Mardon. He ordered the Tower of Babel to be built. Entranced by Mara's beauty, it was he who changed her name to Sapphira Adi. After he lost the ability to speak the common language in the destruction at Babel, he struck Sapphira across the face in anger, drawing her blood in the process, and fell victim to the Oracle's curse—he was sucked into the floor and died.
