Darnov says that Swamp Witch covens lurk in the swamps in every direction around Lang. He even left his broom outside to see if the witches would fly away with it, but he's had no luck so far. With the return of the Maljin, Darnov remarks that he would be lucky to hold down a loaf of bread with the "awful smells" brought by the red fog blanketing the land.
