It all depends on the species, really. As adults, they feed mostly on arthropods (insects and the like), annelids (worms that include earthworms and leeches), and gastropods (snails and slugs). Tadpoles may live either a herbivorous (plant) or carnivorous (meat) diet; some tadpole species have been known to resort to cannibalism.
