Guryil is an Emelanese commoner and a member of the Provost's Guard in Summersea, Emelan. He was a subordinate of Wulfric Snaptrap, a colonel harrier-mage who also worked for the Guard. He was injured while protecting Qasam Rokat. Alzena and Nurhar Dihanur slashed the legs of the horse he was riding, and a fallen horse crushed his leg later. He was infected by unmagic, which kept the healer from being able to heal his leg properly. Sandrilene fa Toren was able to remove the unmagic so he could be fully healed.
