In the script, Charles Tucker III noted to Jonathan Archer – in 2153, moments before Archer traveled back in time to Detroit of 2004 – that the Tigers had been Detroit's baseball team and that their name matched that of Detroit's football team, the Lions. At one point during the development of DS9: "Emissary" (on 30 July 1992 ), Joan Pearce Research Associates suggested the baseball team in Benjamin Sisko's encounter with the Prophets to be the Detroit Tigers.
