The commendation may be banked and saved until the required boss has been defeated, but only one scroll can be owned at a time. Reading the commendation prompts the message, "As you read the scroll, you feel a great power wash over you. You have been awarded a Kal'gerion war rank." You may receive the commendation as a drop even if you are below the level required to unlock the title. You can also receive the drop as a reward from the chest in Rush of Blood, provided the demon was fought in a wave. Unlocking all 5 Kal'gerion titles is a requirement for the trimmed completionist cape.
