The Battle of Liguria was a fierce war, during which Meleager single-handidly killed 317 men. This event made Meleager a well-known and heroic figure throughout Greece, but also implicated many warlords and bandits to try recruiting Meleager into their armies. Meleager's triumph during the war influenced Gabrielle's hometown of Potidaea to hire him and protect them against the warlord Damon.
