Dragonriders of Pern is a strategy game based on the world of Pern as set forth in the novel Dragonflight. It was released in 1983 by Epyx for the Commodore 64 and Atari 8-bit computers (Atari 800, etc.). Negotiation and diplomacy form the main portion of gameplay, making alliances and committing resources to fight Threads. At the end of each game year, players fly their dragons and fight Thread in the skies above Pern.
