Star Wars: The Clone Wars generally recieved positive public reception. Seasons 1 and 2 of the series had as many as 3 million to 4 million viewers, however in seasons 3 and 4 the number of viewers dropped to 1 to 2 million. The Star Wars: The Clone Wars film was made as an introduction to the series. The sixth season was thought to be created and was written, but was cancelled due to the purchase of LucasFilm by Disney.
