Since their introduction, animation portals have gained popularity on websites such as Newgrounds, FluidAnims, Smosh, and E2-Productions. Some sites, such as www.condawg-productions.com, www.flashindustries.com, and www.flashbottle.com are said to soon have animation portals. Most animation portals are run by a MySQL database, though it is said to be possible to create one using just PHP "flat files". There are no known written out scripts for this yet, to date.
