Chuck Durnberger, a product manager for a network computing company from Fremont, California, was a contestant on Season 1 of the U.S. version of the show on July 16, 2000. He walked away with $32,000 after incorrectly answering his $64,000 question. He joins a very small group of people who used none of the three lifelines, with another notable member being John Carpenter. (John used his Phone-A-Friend on the final question, but not for help, but to tell his Dad he was going to win the million, so this doesn't really count as a lifeline used.)
