An Oceanesian State is one of the eleven federated states which, along with the Oceanesian Federal District, make up the United States of Oceanesia. Each state is officially styled as the "the State of ", for example The State of Sri Lanka. Every state has its own state government which is separate from the federal government and which is generally able to exercise any governmental powers not explicitly given to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States of Oceanesia. Each state has an executive headed by a Governor who is directly elected by the people of the State, a state legislature also elected by the people, and its own judicial system separate from but subordinate to the federal judiciary.
