John Rainer (born 10th May 1946 in Stoke-on-Trent) appeared in Coronation Street in March 1973 as children's officer Vincent Baxter. He trained at RADA and also appeared in ITV Sunday Night Theatre, Dixon of Dock Green, Clayhanger, Crown Court and Wessex Tales. He also acted at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Leeds Playhouse, Theatre Royal Haymarket and the Theatre Workshop in Stratford, London. He later found work in the United States of America where he appeared on television in Law and Order, Loving, Scent of a Woman and Private Parts as well as theatre parts there including appearances on Broadway.
