Moltor was the planet closest to the sun Diluculo in the Unknown Regions and was used to collect stray molten bursts from both the planet and the nearby sun. The molten resources were refined and then encased in carbonite; they would return to their liquid form when freed from carbonite and could then be used in the production of machinery. The Second Galactic Empire used this extensively to discreetly create ships and weapons as early as 10 ABY.
