The Aldebaran Music Academy was an academic institution dedicated to musical skills, located in the Aldebaran system. When Miles O'Brien was seventeen, his father sent a recorded audition of Miles' cello playing to the Academy. The day when Miles was accepted was the happiest day of his father. Not knowing how to tell his father he did not want to go, Miles left home two days before he was due to leave for the Academy. He went to town, where he signed up for Starfleet. (DS9: "Shadowplay")
