The D-2 ATPV was developed for the KGF in 152 BBY by Dierkas Vehicles. It was a six-wheeler light patrol vehicle, primarily designed for use in deserts. Although it was intended for patrols and backup transport, it was fully capable of providing supporting fire in combat. The D-2 was armed with 3 L-760 MAWs, a mounted version of the standard SAW. It was only lightly armored, so it was somewhat vulnerable to anti-tank weaponry. However, the lightweight design meant it was cheaper, and faster. At the time of the Third War for Kiridak, the KGF maintained around 2000 of these vehicles.
