A Tarn Ceremonial Dagger was a bladed mêlée weapon used by the Tarn in both combat and ceremony. Admiral Garu Jord kept his dagger in a leather sheath. Before a Tarn of an unbroken circle can talk with a member of a broken circle, a ceremonial kill with the dagger must be performed. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
