Known as Project Nidhogg during development, the Adaptable Melee System is a multifunction tool & melee weapon. Inspired by the Yuuzhan Vong amphistaff, the base form of the AMS is that of a three meter long metal staff. The outer shell of the AMS is made up of a large number of scales that can either interlock or separate depending on the needs of the user. The AMS' main draw however is the low grade droid brain that controls the functions of the tool, either by voice commands or by using an included visor unit. Due to its mechanical nature, the AMS has a wide range of possible forms, including shovels, axes, knives, swords, staves, spears, & so on.
