Usage stats on After World War II, were women encouraged to do "men's work"

During the war, yes. The men where fighting and they needed the women to work. Once the war was done, they where almost expected to go back home and resume life as it was before. But the Women had become bread winners, and most where not willing to just go back. While odds are some men didn't care, or agreed with the women, a lot of them didn't. So at first, no. They where not encouraged.
