The Serpent-Lord was a prophesized great King in Harad. The first Individual to claim the title was a Chieftain called Mardat (the lost heir of House Mek) who resided at the city of Kârna. In the late Third Age the Haradrim Chieftain Suladân found Mardat's blade in the ruins of the Serpent Palace and claimed the title for his own, uniting large parts of the Haradwaith under his banner.
