James Eugene "Jim" Carrey (born January 17, 1962) is an American Democratic politician who was the Democratic nominee for President in the 2012 Presidential election and was the Governor of Huron from 1999-2003, prohibited from succeeding himself by the Huron State Constitution. Elected as Mayor of Newmarket in 1987 at the age of 25, Carrey was the youngest mayor in the United States during his single term as Mayor. He served in the Huron State Senate from 1991 to 1998, resigning upon his election to the Governorship.
