The Kasumi family was a prominent family from Dantooine, with many of its members being involved in public service. The most famous member was Meiko Kasumi. The family began with Dina Kasumi, Meiko's grandmother by her father's side. Her son married Layla Kasumi, the daughter of Kayla Kasumi, and they had two girls, Meiko and Miku Kasumi. Miku married Darien Kasumi and had two children, Lina and Lisa. After some discussion, Miku and Darien agreed to keep Kasumi the family name, so their daughters' last name was Kasumi.
