Walter Robert Tkaczuk (born September 29, 1947, in Emsdetten, Germany) is a retired centre who played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers between 1967 and 1981. He played junior hockey for the Kitchener Rangers from 1964-1968. In his final season he won the Red Tilson Trophy as the league most valuable player. Since Kitchener was a New York Rangers farm team, Tkaczuk went on to the Rangers. He played until 1981 when an eye injury forced his retirement. He was a Rangers assistant coach for two years.
