Anglers were a species of landfish that hunted their prey in a similar way to angler fish. It used a large protuberance at the end of a tentacle disguised as a ripe woodsap. As soon as their prey touched the lure, the angler launched up and ate its prey. Maris was attacked by one in Clash of the Sky Galleons, but Quint killed it by throwing an Ironwood Pinecone into its throat.
