Robert Brydges, a retired banker from Hampshire, was a contestant on the 10th series of the UK version of the show on 29 September, 2001. He became the third contestant to win £1,000,000. His win, coming a mere 11 days after the Charles Ingram affair, sparked some controversy regarding Brydges's wealth prior to his appearance. He returned to Millionaire in September 9, 2003, playing for charity with Judith Chalmers, winning £32,000. They answered the £250,000 question incorrectly, losing £93,000 for their charities.
