James Sharpe became a professional runner in 3315. His track career lasted until 3323. During this time, Sharpe won three gold medals at the Terran Olympics. Additionally, he won four silvers and one bronze medal. After ending his athletic career, he became a prominent sports journalist. Sharpe was elected to Parliament in April 3327. Four years later, he was surprisingly defeated. He returned to Parliament in 3347. Shortly after he returned to Parliament, he was elected leader of the Liberal Party.
