Bristol Rovers and Boston United have met on 11 occasions. Boston have won four times compared to Rovers' three and there have been four draws. Rovers and Boston's first match in August 2002 is unique. It was, and remains, the only League Cup Preliminary Round fixture. The game came about as Division One side Ipswich Town were involved in the UEFA Cup causing an uneven number of teams entering at the first round.
