Pundi rice is a type of edible grain that was grown and cultivated by House Atreides while they ruled the planet Caladan. They grew in the lowland marshes on the southern continent. A typical pundi rice grain was approximately 4cm long. Pundi rice was part of the Caladani staple diet, as well as an export that generated huge profits for Caladani farmers, as well as the Atreides family, who also owned and cultivated farmland on the planet.
